I think I can safely say I have a long road of physical therapy ahead of me. A brief summary of the neurosurgeon's visit is that I could have had a stroke in my leg but more likely complications of surgery caused the drop foot. Something so rare, he has never seen it in a first time total knee replacement from the anterior position. Physical therapy may bring it back. If not, there are neurosurgeons who specialize in fixing this condition. However, that would be far off in the future. First an EMG test toward the end of May and for now high top shoes and a script for a brace that will be fitted once it comes in. And lots and lots of physical therapy.
So, I am moving on. I am getting stronger every day. I understand I will have limitations in movement and that I will not be driving for a very long time....if ever. But I can still paint and enjoy creating designs to print and ship and that is what I have decided to do. I've opened my shop without any fanfare because I want to go slow.
Yesterday, Hub's grand-daughter, Ally, helped out by delivering a batch of fresh cards to Made In Chico, a local shop that carries my cards. I've reopened my Etsy site and I'm looking forward to painting again.
