I have enjoyed the new year for as long as I can remember.  I love this time of retrospection and promise.  For me it's as if I have an opportunity to make positive changes in my life with health, relationships, and discipline.  As soon as we put away the Christmas tree and box up the decorations for next year, I see my environment ready and waiting to be changed into something sleek and uncluttered.

Here are my first paintings of the new year. It's how I feel...a little fragile (just recovering from 3 weeks of bronchitis) but willing to change and grow.  I've gathered up my spring things and am ready to stock up Made in Chico with some January and February designs tomorrow. Soon there will be fresh blossoms, valentines, and who knows what will be next?

One of my New Year's resolutions is to paint the birth flowers of the month. I've learned the carnation is for January.  Here is my first offering for a flower of the month.  Next I will paint purple violets.

Happy New Year my friends!
